2016 Proven Performance Trials
The CPS Field Performance Check (FPC) and Fieldscale Retail Demonstration (FRD) programs have been featuring varieties and collecting data since 2009
to give producers and CPS agronomists local results under local conditions in a field scale format.
All sites were producer-managed using field scale equipment. All hybrids within the field were seeded on the same date and treated with the same
fertilizer, herbicides and fungicides. Harvest timing was based on variety maturity. Yields were measured by weigh wagon or by yield monitors, which
were calibrated prior to harvest. 107 napus field trials and demos were seeded. Due to the uncooperative harvest only 66 had yield results collected.
Yield
2016 started out as an early season across many areas of the Prairies.
Rain and snow created season delays and harvest issues. Many trials
were abandoned at harvest.
CPS would like to thank all the producers who cooperated
in the 2016 Proven Performance Trials program.
