Economic Factors
It is not common to associate economics with Kosher. Generally, Kosher would be thought to have no effect on our economic situation, but there are in fact some effects. The sales industry associated with Kosher is actually a 2.3 billion dollar a year industry and growing each year. The industry employs nearly 150,000 people in the United States alone. It would be safe to say that Kosher plays an important role in American economics and shouldn't be taken for granted.
Dishes
A common dish that has to do with Kosher is latkes. You make these with baking potatoes, onions, matzoh meal and Kosher salt. When you fry them up with vegetable oil, you get a delicious potato-based dish. You can serve them with lots of sides, though the traditional sides are some sour cream and a bowl of soup.
Blintzes are a traditional dish for the holiday of Shavuot. The main ingredients are cream cheese, salt, eggs, maple syrup, milk and flour. They usually are served with apple sauce, sour cream or cinnamon sugar.
