Questions Used in Evaluating Portfolios: Student Handout The following questions will be used in evaluating the portfolio. 1. Does the portfolio show your knowledge of the subject matter covered in class for the module? Does it show an understanding of class discussions, activities, readings, research, and presentations? 2. Does the portfolio show your clear understanding of the module goal? 3. Does the portfolio show your examination of yourself as a learner and of your progress as a learner? 4. Does the portfolio contain three to four samples of work related to the module goal? Does the portfolio contain the required assignments for the module? 5. Does the portfolio contain all of the required components? (This includes the initial letter or essay, the samples of work and required work, the closing or summation, and the self-evaluation.) 6. Is the portfolio logically arranged? 7. Is the portfolio attractive? Effective? Clearly labeled? Colorful? Creative? Original? 8. Does the portfolio show your ability to draw logical, relevant conclusions about observations, experiences, and learning? 9. Does the portfolio show your ability to apply or use what has been learned? 10. Does the portfolio show your ability to analyze and observe from a variety of perspectives? 11.
