7. Finally, have the students calculate the cumulative GPA for her freshman year. This
can be accomplished by adding the number of quality points from each semester and
dividing the sum by the total numbers of hours taken. Translate the GPA to a letter
grade. Ask students if they are surprised. She has taken almost a “B” average and
turned it into a “C” average.
