ACTIVITIES: A pennant is a long, narrow, relatively small flag, often triangular, used for identification or as an emblem for a winner in a contest. The students will create pennants that symbolize their past, present, and a positive future. 1. In the upper left corner of the pennant, instruct students to draw symbols that tell something about their early years. (If they moved around a lot, a car or moving van might be the symbol they choose. A dog or cat might indicate the importance of a pet to them. A book with a happy face might show they liked school, or a baseball might indicate they played the game.) 2.
