STANDARD:
Students will think more positively about their home and school relationships, their
education, and their future.
DESCRIPTOR:
Students will identify positive steps they can take to deal with low self-esteem.
ACTIVITIES:
Opportunities for individual expression serve an important role in the development and
maturation of middle schoolers. Students will express their identity in a variety of
positive ways through the creation of a collage.
**(The dictionary defines a collage as “a composition of flat objects pasted together on a
surface for artistic effect.”) They will also examine positive steps they can take to deal
with occasional bouts of low self-esteem.

sturdy poster paper for each student (poster board or card stock if possible)
magazines/newspapers for collages
glue or paste
