Instructions for Pennant
Objective: Design a personal pennant that will tell something positive about you. Choose
symbols that represent you (within reason).
1. In the upper left hand corner of the pennant, draw a symbol or symbols that tell
something about your early years (relating to something that identifies your hobbies,
favorite things to do, etc.)
2. In the lower left hand corner, draw symbols that represent your present time of life,
hobbies, or favorite things.
3. In the right pointed side of the pennant, draw symbols that represent a personal
positive future.
4. If you choose to color your pennant, choose colors that best represent your pennant
that you feel are important in your life.
5. Attach to balloon sticks or straws. Display.
6. Access the internet or use magazines, books, etc., to find quotes about positivity.
Select one that appeals to you, and share insights about related personal experiences
and personal growth.
Assessment:
1. Explain your pennant to the class.
2. Respond to the following questions in your journal:
In what ways were the things you anticipate being of value or importance to you in
the future similar to those of your classmates? Different? What can you infer
(conclude) from these similarities? Differences?
