12. Gestures
Tell your classmates that motions we make with our bodies and without words can
help us be better understood. Students who are good at using appropriate gestures
have a real advantage.
Take turns calling on your classmates or let them work in teams to make up gestures
to communicate each of the following:
A) Come here
B) Go away
C) Friendly wave
D) I mean business
E) Calm down
F) Stop
G) I don’t know
H) Yes, I did it!
I) Leave me alone
Once the demonstrations are completed, remind students that if we learn to express
ourselves with clear and friendly gestures, we will be well received by others.
13. Walk
Begin by having your classmates walk in mass from one end of the room to the other.
