The Party Story
I want to tell you about a ninth grader named Tanya.
She has three friends who all have birthdays on the same day. Tanya decided it would be fun
to have a party and celebrate all three birthdays. She invited fifteen friends all under the age of
fourteen. She planned to have them play music, dance, watch movies, order pizza and eat
birthday cake.
Everything was going well until the day of the party arrived. Unfortunately, while Tanya was
busy getting ready, her little brother Jason let the cat Casey into the house. To make matters
worse, when her friends arrived at six o’clock, the neighbor’s pet dog Teddy, a chocolate-colored
lab, got into the house.
Teddy ran through and tried to attack Casey who scratched Teddy across the nose. That’s
when Teddy chased Casey through the den into the kitchen where he leaped across the table onto
the counter into the middle of the birthday cake.
Tanya’s mother came down the stairs to see what was going on, and Jason tried to stop their mom
from going into the kitchen. Tanya’s mother walked into the kitchen to find Teddy covered in pink
cake icing and white cake and Casey on top of the refrigerator licking icing off his left front paw.
