The students will make a visual collection of magazine cut outs that represent their
personalities and true colors. The majority of the collage should be in their individual
colors, which were determined in the “True Colors Personality Quiz.”
You’ll need:
v colored construction paper (assorted)
v glue
v scissors
v magazines of all types
ACTIVITIES:
1. Have the students recall their favorite colors.
2. Each student will choose his own piece of construction paper.
3. Spread the magazines you have collected on the floor.
4. Allow the students to look for images, words, and symbols that represent them—
especially if they are in their true colors.
5. Encourage the students to look for things in their colors, but the images can be in any
form.
6. The collage is supposed to be a representation of the student’s personality.
7. Allow the students to share their projects. (You may want to have the students sit in a
circle.) They should be able to explain why they chose the images they did.
ASSESSMENT:
1. Students will tell about their collages and explain the meanings of their chosen
cutouts.
2. Students will write in their journals focusing on a few of the images they chose for
their collages and explain them.
3. Students may choose to answer the following question: What did you learn about your
true colors and your classmates’ true colors by completing this activity?
