Staff who are already leading teams and managing projects or functions in a retail environment , such as department managers , small store managers , retail supervisors or team leaders .
Learners take one mandatory unit : working effectively and supporting others in a retail organisation . They then usually choose four or five optional units from a range that covers all areas of retail management , including managing teams , resolving conflict , producing staff schedules and promoting continuous improvement .

Learners could progress to higher level retail qualifications , including at degree level , in buying and merchandising , visual merchandising , retail management , or to general qualifications in management .

Level 2 Certificate in Retail Skills

Flexible . Learners can start and finish at any time of the year .
Employees with some knowledge and basic skills in the retail industry - probably from a role where they work under supervision , such as a sales assistant , stock room assistant or customer support executive .
Learners take one mandatory unit : working effectively in a retail team , and then usually between three and five optional units from a range that covers all areas of retail work , including sales , customer support , visual merchandising , stock control and processing fresh goods . Some units focus on particular retails sectors , such as fish , baked goods , meat , grocery or clothing .
