Art as an instrument to touch the spirit !

When you work towards the voluntary sector , you meet many people with incredible commitment , drive and good ideas ! When you are also lucky enough to participate in the voluntary sector internationally , these meetings multiply .
Last fall , I was fortunate enough to attend a meeting in Bogota , Colombia , where I met volunteers from over 20 organizations . One of these was Karina Garcia , a dentist , who worked in jewelry production for Arte Sano . She works with a small group to teach locals how to produce jewelry for sale through Arte Sano . This is generating new entrepreneurs , multiplying knowledge , enhancing current skills and energizing the local economy , with the implementation of each venture . The empowerment of each individual leads to the empowerment of each community .
