EDITOR ’ S NOTE
While putting together this 9th edition of Property360Digest e- magazine , it dawned upon me that despite the pandemic and uncertainties that are lurking around us , the property industry is still in fifth gear . This to me only means one thing – there is demand and supply .
According to Previndran Singhe , CEO of Zerin Properties , Real estate property groups are seeing a general rise in net profits from the first quarter of 2021 alone . IOI Properties net profits increased to RM178.95m in Q3 FY2021 from RM82.36m the year before .
" Last year , net profits for real estate dropped following the consensus of uncertainty from buyers . Developers were also not ready to attack the market , but once they rehashed their products with the help of digitalization , both in business and marketing , the corresponding results have proved favourable . But most importantly , this also shows the robustness of the property market in Malaysia and the resilience of Malaysian buyers ”. Surfing social media would also testify to this statement as many developers have moved their launches , marketing and reach to the SOCMED world .
We at Emjay Communications see this as a positive indicator towards the recovery of the economy as the property industry plays a vital role in the overall economic health . We also do understand that many smaller businesses have suffered loss of income , staff and many have already shuttered . We do hope that the government takes extra notice with this catastrophe and offers some significant assistance as it is needed now more than ever . For those who have lost loved ones to this evil pandemic , we pray that their souls rest in peace and that you stay strong to battle ahead .
