designs, backed by natural landscapes
REVIEW
Cosy Amidst Nature
By Rakesh Kumar
2019 has been kind to SP Setia Bhd, as even by the third quarter, the property giant managed to secure a
majestic sales of RM3.07 Billion. There’s nothing stopping them as they push forward with wide variety of
properties ready for picking in the highly demanding market, as more and more Malaysians are consciously
moving into acquiring property as not only as their home, but as guaranteed investment.
The company is braving forward amidst the murky economic waters with its latest phase of 194 acres Setia
Eco Templer, with the total GDV worth RM 2 Billion, expected to be completed in five years’ time.
Setia Eco Templer
The company’s Setia Eco Templer development is in
itself a state-of-the-art housing project that projects
unique home designs, backed by natural landscapes.
The name of this development is significant as it was
inspired by Sir Gerald Templer’s journey to the then
Malaya early last century which certainly triggered
by his own nostalgic pining for the pristine gardens of
an English home coupled with the exotic influences
of the Malay Archipelago, sprinkled heavily with the
unique cultural diversity of the Peranakan Era and
strong Balinese elements.
Located at the expanse of green amidst the
majestic Bukit Takun, surrounded by the Templer
Park and Kanching rainforest reserves, home to
various flora, fauna that are uniquely Malaysian.
This development mainly offers bungalows, semi-
detached, and link villa; with The Grove commercial
project offering two and three storey shop offices
and the state’s Rumah Selangorku. Needless to say,
nature is intertwined with the development with
creeks, pristine flower gardens, ponds offering a
bird heaven among others.

The development made headlines few years
back when it received the Design Excellence Award
at the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP) in 2016.
Essex Gardens
The noted developer has already launched its
Phase 1(a), Essex Gardens in June 2016, and phase
1(c) The Grove two-three storey shop offices was
launched in 2017. In fact, Essex Gardens, consisting
of 234 bungalows, semi-detached homes and link
villas, had already been handed over in June
2019. It also has a commercial hub, The Grove @
Templer that includes 40 units of two to three-
storey shopoffices, with builtup of 2,996 to 7,262
sq ft, with highly covered main road frontage, to
be handed over by the first quarter of this year.
The standout feature that would be the main pulling
factor is the English homes amidst English themed
pocket parks and landscaped gardens. As of now,
the Essex Gardens still have limited units available
up for grabs considering that most have already
been sold out, with the remaining selling fast.
