The best thing about EDC and Tomorrowland is they don’t stop there each year they get bigger and better. More lights, more people, different stage set up, bigger theme parks and, more smoke machines and MANY DJs. They push the bars a bit more at every event they do. Offering more each time. Tomorrowland always has a different theme like this year they had 2 weekends to celebrate 10 years, so they had the key to happiness. What does EDM stand for? EDM is an acronym for Electronic Dance Music. Some people hate the word as it doesn’t define the multiple sub genres within EDM. They prefer the use of wording like Acid, House, Drum n Bass and so on. But soon EDM will not stand for anything as it is becoming its own genre. What is EDM? EDM is more then music, it’s a culture; some people live breath and sleep it. It’s a family within, it’s not about what you look like, and skin colour, what you got or what you don’t have, they respect each and every person for who they are. It’s about sharing the moment together, meeting new people with the same amount of passion as you have. It’s all about PLUR and sharing the same moment together, but without taking a selfie they trade Kandi that then becomes a story. What is the difference between Push Play DJ and real DJing? There is a lot of stuff going around about David Guetta being a push play DJ, it’s when you have your whole track listing on a USB and you just hit play on a CDJ, nothing more to it. You look like your turning a load of knobs but you just touch them. But if you were just DJing, you would have to beat match the song you got playing on the live PA with the song your about, you slip in though the headphones. So you will be using the low ends to take one bass line out of a song for the other songs bass to replace it, changing the tempo on one song to get the kick at the same tempo before you find the perfect timing to fade one song out. You can even add effects or add your own style to your DJ set by adding different types of songs in to your mix. So there is a big difference between Push play DJs and real DJing. Oh and they only play the big hits on the charts as well as throw some old 2004 ones in too. Is there like a voting thing for DJs just like MTV awards? Shockingly there is, but it’s not like awards for best video, new DJ of the year, best comedian DJ ect It’s slightly different. You pick 5 of your favorite DJs, then you wait until somewhere around November time to find out who makes it on the top 100 DJ list. The list for 2013, no one was happy with it, as Bl3nd a bedroom DJ got on the top 100 list, most people didn’t understand how. Tenashar who’s a model and her music is just not good and a few others. But this year we have another vote going on, never before called bottom were 100 which I find it pretty funny as a lot of people voting for Justin Bieber…yes you heard me Justin! He made a dance track just a few weeks ago and Paris Hilton that makes god knows how much in Ibiza nightclubs. Page 86 - Proper Eye Candy Magazine
