If the number of op-eds and think-pieces are any indication, we seem to be the world’s latest obsession. We’ve been called a lot of things—‘The Me Generation’, ‘Digital Natives’ and even ‘the Boomerang According to Generation’, (due to our supposed tendency to return William Strauss and home after college). We’ve also been described as Neil Howe, the originators lazy, entitled, socially conscious, entrepreneurial, of the word “millennial”, global citizens and of course, tech-savvy. the sweet spot for But contrary to popular belief, it’s not all ‘millennial status’ Instagram likes and Snapchat filters. Millennials is between came of age in the great recession of 2007, and grew 1981 and 1997! We asked 60 up alongside social media and technology— both of which have greatly impacted our worldview. We are also presently living in a world where an oversaturated job market, rampant natural disasters and devastating terror attacks are par for the course. There is a lot of “he said, she said” when it comes to millennials and our preferences, personalities and passions. And we get it—millennials are indeed a fascinating bunch. But the truth is, if you want to know the truth about millennials, you should probably just ask them.
