St John’s senior school is one of the first schools in Kilkenny to welcome FID and to assist Fid in its fundraising ideas and in its fight against poverty and infectious diseases in the Gambia, West Africa.
St John’s school has been one of the key patrons of FID. In Kilkenny staff, parents and children have since made significant clothing and shoe etc donations to help families
in rural areas of the Gambia.FID welcomes all schools in Ireland to forward fundraising ideas for FID so as to raise much needed funds in order
to help in the fight against infectious diseases in The Gambia, West Africa.
FID wants a greater contribution for all the schools for social connections with the schools in The Gambia, for learning different cultures and the project carries with the rural areas.FID welcomes a greater contribution from all the schools in the form of visits to the Gambia in order to experience first- hand different cultures and traditions as well as meet other school children and their families who benefit from the work that FID does in The Gambia.Fundraising can be a great way to have a great time while supporting FID.Organising a marathon is a great way of raising funds as well as jumble sales and family and friends collections.Why not invite your friends and colleagues to attend your event. This way you can raise vital funds for FID as well as raise awareness of the charity`s work in the most deprived areas in the Gambia.Fund raising is another way of generating funds for the charity.
