Interview with Jay Gatsby

Why did you move to the West egg? I mean you can't really say that you moved to throw wild parties every night.

Well the truth is that there's this girl, Daisy, she's the only thing left that has any worth to me, and I've come to get her back. She's the only reason that I'm who I am today.

When you recognized Nick at your party you didn't seem to have the feeling of brotherhood that most soldiers have, why is that?

Wow that is a good question. I guess that in my quest to change who I am I forgot some people. I have no doubt that if I was still the man I was during the war than I would immediatly feel a bond between Nick and I. Now that I've changed though, I don't recognize him well.

Are you really friends with Nick Carroway, or are you just using him to get to his Cousin Daisy?

Well I really do like Nick and we really are friends, but sometimes I do find myself using him to get to Daisy. It may sound selfish, but she is the only thing in the world that I truly want.

Do you really think that Daisy will choose you over Tom, even though choosing you has more risks?

Well I think that she will choose me. Even though I present more risks, I am also the person that she truly loves, unlike Tom.

Why did you take the fall for Daisy when she was the one who ran over Myrtle, even though it meant the end of your life as you know it?

By that time I realized that Tom had won Daisy. I knew I had no reason to live anymore so I decided to protect the one thing I loved.
