The AFl: The American Federation of Labor has an exapanding number of memberships that now stands at 1.7 million(1904). It is by far the most strongest and atable organization of workers. Most of its growth during the year of 1897-1904 came from AFL affiliates.
The IWW: "The Wobbies" concentrated their efforts on miners, luberjacks, sailors, "harvest stiffs" and other casual laborers. The Industrial Workers of the World became a force among eastern industrial workers by leading steel strikes against the power of the U.S Steel.
