Tin whistle is the least expensive of
traditional instruments but one of the
most musical. A great place to start!
Please bring a Generation brand tin
whistle in the key of D; upper
intermediate and advanced, also bring
one in the key of Bb. Tim and Christine
are experienced teachers who offer lots
of encouragement.

Traditional Flute Tenor Banjo
& Mandolin
Davy teaches the traditional wooden
flute. One of Belfast’s finest flute
players, he is equally famous for his
sense of humour. Well-known on the
continent as well as in Belfast, Davy has
been teaching his popular classes for
years now. Some instruments may be
available for hire at £25 per term;
enquire at our information evening.

We are delighted to have Aiden on the
teaching staff of the Society. Originally
from Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo, Aiden is a
highly skilled musician who is wellknown on the Belfast trad scene.
Belfast-born, tenor banjo player Paul
Conlon has been playing the traditional
Irish music scene for around 25 years.
He has toured with various traditional
music outfits in Europe but has always
based his roots on home soil. Paul is a
respected and experienced teacher.

much experience. We will listen to
recordings from a wide variety of
singers, discuss styles, context, origins,
language, history, and themes and get
you singing as soon as possible.
