Women are no longer taking a back seat to creating wealth . They ’ re living life with purpose . Maxine Cain is an influencer in the world of STEM . She ’ s “ a woman who knows how to pivot , and how to help other women pivot successfully too !” “ STEM in the City ” is a Global Citizenship Initiative , a multi-cultural peer mentoring program for girls in grades ( 6-12 ). She Pivot , formerly known as Girl Pivot , is just one of Cain ’ s many businesses powered her company , STEM Atlanta Women , Inc .

As a business strategist , Cain , works with Women Business Leaders ( WBL ) through emerging tech training to teach girls how to fly drones , code programs , and start their own business . Bronwyn Morgan , Founder and CEO of Airversity , an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ( UAV ) Drone Pilot Academy , partners with Cain to provide drone training to students and professional women . Morgan ’ s drone certification and flight training programs help women transition into new careers .

Cain runs STEM Atlanta Women , a non-profit 501 ( c )( 3 ) organization created to enlighten , educate and empower women and girls to pursue careers in Science , Technology , Engineering , and Mathematics ( STEM ) and to acquire the skills needed to compare and succeed in the 21st century through project-based learning and problem-solving activities .

Coretta Scott King Young Women ’ s Leadership Academy is the only Advanced-Ed , STEM certified , all-girl school in the state of Georgia . STEM Atlanta Women was very influential in helping the leaders of the school accomplish this goal . Robin Roberts of “ Good Morning America ” along with celebrity actress Lupita Nyongo stopped by to present a $ 25,000 Donors Choice contribution to support girls ’ taking part in King ’ s STEM program . The audience of future leaders chanted the King school moto , “ Empowering every girl every day !” And that ’ s exactly what Cain is doing .

Appointed as one of the Georgia State Leads for Georgia Girls STEM Collaborative Projects , she ’ s bringing together organizations throughout Georgia that are committed to encouraging girls to pursue careers in STEM . Cain was honored to receive the 2019 STEM Education Award for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women , along with the 2019 Ambassador of Change Award for Outstanding Leadership in STEM Education and Training .

Atlanta may be home to Cain , but now she ’ s looking to expand her businesses in Florida , to help young girls generate wealth by competing in STEM ’ s global market .
