DEMOCRATIC WOMEN HOST A Survival Guide for EBONY & IVORY AFFAIR On February 21 at the Pat Th omas Academy, the 2014 Ebony & Ivory Aff air will on be hosted by the Single Girls Gadsden County Democratic Women’s Club. Th is year’s theme is “Working Together To Turn Florida Vanentine’s Day Blue”. A spokesperson for the planning committee Magazine PROGRAM SUCCESS stated: “Black History and Democracy are as Ask Demetria: date? interdependent as the No ebony and No ivory keys on a problem. Here are fi ve tips to black and piano. Black History is all of our history, get through of the white, male and one female. Th e worst struggle continues holidays on earth. and all of us must continue to work together. Th is black tie aff air is being held in recognition of the advancements that we have made together. All segments of our community are invited.” Th e elegant evening will begin with a VIP reception at 6pm where guests will be entertained by the Sounds of Gadsden in a live premier performance of jazz and rhythm & blues music. Th e reception will aff ord the community with a stellar-type opportunity to personally meet and greet the President of the Florida Chapter of the Democratic Women’s Club, the Chair of the Florida Democratic Party and several candidates for state and local offi ce in 2014. Th ere will also be a display and silent auction of some wonderful Black Art. Beginning at 7pm, guests attending the Dinner Program will enjoy a scrumptious meal, outstanding performers and speakers, and witness the historic presentations of the very fi rst “Patricia Stephens Due Legends Award”, “Vivian Davis Kelly Community Advocate Award” and the “Estella M. McGriff Democratic Woman of the Year Award”. Th ese awards are named in honor of three black women from Gadsden County who worked for democracy in this nation, state and county.
