The NFL and colleges are getting most of the news media coverage about the problems with concussions . We all know that the feeding ground for high schools , colleges and the pros starts with the little leagues and that ' s where Terry focuses most of his attention . As a child playing football with the PAL organization in his community , Terry remembers playing with old hand-me-down , outdated equipment . Concussions were not even talked about at that time . Terry advocates that all little league parents make sure to challenge PAL ( Police Athletic League ), Pop Warner , and all little leagues associations to begin to keep an ongoing data base of the number of concussions that the kids sustain while playing in order to help parents keep up with how many concussions their child has sustained during their playing career .

The Boss Helmet Terry Lewis is not one to sit on the sidelines , seeing a problem and not take actions . Far too many of our young children are being adversely affected from a sport he loves and played . As a seasoned inventor , Terry took to his drawing board and created what is now known as the Boss Helmet . This new helmet is revolutionizing the safety standard of football on all levels .
The Boss Helmet has four forms of protection , while the average helmet has two forms of protection which are the outer shell and the head padding . The Boss Helmet has nine separate panels on the outer shell to absorb impact . Each individual panel has shocks and bosses that work together to absorb and slow down the impact forces , and disperse the energy as it decompresses into the bosses . The inner shell of the Boss Helmet protects the skull with its specially designed head padding with a type of memory foam .

The preliminary test data that has been done on the Boss Helmet is very promising . The technology definitely slows down the impact blow to the head thereby reducing the chance of getting a concussion . Terry ' s vision of the Boss Helmet was reinforced when his friend and business partner Bea Lewis told him about a movie she watched about football called " Concussion ." In this movie , while conducting an autopsy on former NFL football player Mike Webster ( David Morse ), forensic pathologist Dr . Bennet Omalu ( Will Smith ) discovers neurological deterioration that is similar to Alzheimer ' s disease . Omalu names the disorder chronic traumatic encephalopathy and publishes his findings in a medical journal . As other athletes face the same diagnosis , the crusading doctor embarks on a mission to raise public awareness about the dangers of football-related head trauma .
