African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida Announces New President

The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida ( AACCCF ) Board of Directors announced today the appointment of Tanisha Nunn Gary as the Chamber ’ s new President and CEO . She will begin her new role on October 9 , 2018 .
Gary is a talented and seasoned attorney with over 18 years of experience in civil litigation and a strong local community advocate . Gary previously served as owner of her own Central Florida area law practice , The Law Office of Tanisha Gary , PLLC , where she focused on pursuing justice for her clients .
“ As an experienced entrepreneur , she brings a wealth of expertise that will provide added value to our small business members ,” said Joyce Odongo , Board Chair of the AACCCF . We are confident that she is the right leader for our chamber to help accomplish our ambitious strategic plan over the next several years .”
“ It ’ s such an honor and privilege to be selected as the next Chamber President ,” said Gary . “ I look forward to working closely with the AACCCF Board , trustees , staff , volunteers , and its members to continue to grow the Chamber ’ s mission and advocacy efforts .”
Prior to forming her own law practice , she served as Senior Associate with Gary , Williams , Parenti , Watson & Gary , PLLC where she served as second chair in a wrongful death trial winning a verdict of $ 18 million , one of the highest wrongful death verdicts in North Carolina . In addition to practicing in Florida , Tanisha has regularly handled cases throughout the United States in North Carolina , South Carolina , Georgia , Arizona , New York , Oklahoma , Michigan , and Louisiana .
Dedicated to making a difference in the community , Tanisha regularly volunteers her time with Orange County Public Schools and is a member of Boy Scouts of America Central Florida Council Investment Committee . Tanisha is also involved in several professional and civic organizations and is a past recipient of the National Bar Association ’ s ( NBA ) “ Presidential Award .”
Tanisha earned her law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law and undergraduate degree in Political Science from Spelman College .
