State Hotline for Struggling Homeowners
I would like to inform you that there is a statewide hotline that has been created to assist homeowners that are struggling to make their mortgage payments . The hotline has been formed by the Florida Bar Association and is called the Florida Attorneys Saving Homes , or FLASH . The hotline will assist those homeowners who are on the verge of losing their homes but NOT in foreclosure .
TO USE FLASH YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS :
* Income must not exceed 125 percent of the national poverty level based on family size and yearly income ( there are some exceptions to this ). * Attorneys will negotiate only for those who have missed payments but DO NOT face foreclosure . * Must be a Florida resident .
After answering some initial questions , you will be placed with a local attorney who , at no charge , will negotiate with the lender and attempt to reach an arrangement that will keep you in your home .
I urge those who are in need of assistance to take advantage of this free hotline . Or , if you know someone who is in need of assistance please share this information with them .
