Charlene D . Kee is the first African American woman to serve in the position of the Charlene D . Kee National AMVETS Ladies Amvets Ladies Auxiliary President . The Auxilary annual National Convention Orlando , Florida was held on August 9 , 2008 at
Christian Reader October 2008 the Rosen Centre , Orlando , Florida , where she was inaugurated . President Kee believes that all members should be heard and everyone should have an opportunity to venture
Charlene D . Kee out in various areas to help the Auxiliary in membership growth and development .

Charlene has been a member of AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary to John P . Piner Post # 30 Orlando , Florida since December 27 , 1980 , the same day she married AMVET member the late Joseph L . Kee , Jr . Charlene has held many positions on the Local , District and Department levels . She was elected to her first National position in 2003 as Chaplain and since that time has held the positions of Scholarship Officer , Third Vice President , Second Vice President and National 1st Vice President , before her current elevation to National President .
She is the mother of three children , Donald , Gina and Gleen , and the proud grandmother of six lovely angels that she just adores . Charlene has been a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church for over 25 years . She is an active member and serves as the Church Clerk , Parliamentarian , Usher , on the Pulpit Committee , and is the Pastor ’ s Secretary .
Charlene is employed with Orange County Public Schools for 29 years as a Migrant Program Assistant / Advocate . She is a charter member of the Migrant Youth Association and serves as the Membership Chairperson . Charlene also serves on the Royce B . Walden-Bert E . Roper Scholarship Advisory Board and is a Notary . Charlene says one of her greatest pleasures in life is serving as a Mentor for Migrant Students and assisting children in her community with completing applications to attend college and applying for scholarships .
