20 The Christian Reader November 2006 The Renaissanc Located in Historic Downtown Orlando www.carversquare.com The Parramore Heritage area was once the epicenter of life for African American Central Floridians. In the early years, the Carver Theatre was a community landmark in Parramore that embodied the rich and unique history of African American people in Orlando. Now this historically important corner where the Carver Theatre once stood will be the home of The Renaissance at Carver Square, an 11 story mixed use development which will include a 300 seat state-of-the-art performing arts theatre. The Renaissance at Carver Square will offer an upscale lifestyle and amenities with the convenience of self-contained living in a downtown location. This project is symbolic of the national trend toward retail shops and restaurants on the ground floor, surrounded by attractive streetscapes, offering a place for people to interact and socialize.
