B-CU Class of 1967

Celebrates its 50th Anniversary in Style

The Class of 1967 celebrated its 50 th Anniversary during Homecoming - October 27- 29 , 2017 . It was a fun packed weekend and a memorable experience for all of the participants . Mr . & Mrs . Reginald Moore hosted a nice Welcome Mixer on Friday evening at their home . Exquisite ambiance , excellent food and comradery at its best !
Awards were presented to two outstanding classmates : Larry Little and Dr . Joyce Hanks-Moorehead . Larry was a college standout and played 14 seasons in the NFL . He earned NFL All Pro honors 6 times , was selected to play in 5 Pro Bowls , and played in three Super Bowls including the 1972 " Perfect Season " with the Miami Dolphins . He was inducted into the B-CU Athletic Hall of Fame , the Florida Sports Hall of Fame , the NFL Hall of Fame , and the NFL-HBCU Hall of Fame . He served as a Head Football Coach at his alma mater and at North Carolina Central .
He received the Honorary Doctorate Degree from B-CU in 2014 . He is a longtime community servant in Dade County !
Dr . Joyce Hanks-Moorehead earned a Bachelor ' s Degree from Bethune and a law degree from the University of Arkansas in 1976 . She is a member of the Florida and Maryland Bars and is licensed in both jurisdictions . Joyce and her husband , Thomas , formed Moorehead Properties , Inc . Current investments include the largest minority ownership interest in a Marriott Residence Inn located within the National Harbor Resort and Convention Center , South of Washington , D . C . The National Harbor Project will be developed over 10 years , estimated at $ 1 Billion +. Once completed , it will be the first major hotel facility developed and owned by African Americans . Additionally , they are partners and owners of the franchise rights to own and operate a Choice
Hotel in Colorado Springs , CO .
The Mooreheads are major donors and supporters of Bethune­ Cookman University . The Thomas & Joyce Hanks Moorehead Residence Life Center at B-CU was dedicated On April 22 , 2016 . Joyce is also on the Board of Trustees at her alma mater and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Inc .
The class made a special
presentation to our Alma Mater -
$ 15,300 during the pre-game at the
stadium on Saturday !
