�EGA ALLEN , a woman who will bring a unique and valuable perspective to the office of Mayor That perspective will allow for growth , development , and cooperation of the citizens , private and public regarding commercial and
1 governmental concerns .
The female approach to problem solving and communication , though effective , is different from that of a male . Women are accustomed to dealing with emotions . Women have the uncanny ability to understand and feel what a person is trying to say and convey even if that person is unable to adequately do so .
As a women , Omega Allen will use her ability to listen ; without the sense of threat , to the opinions of others and still make the decision that is best for all . As a women , she is accustomed to having to understand various perspectives . Men have not traditionally had to understand women or children in order to accomplish their goals . Women however ; have been required to balance the needs , emotions , and concerns of everybody involved and affected by a situation in order to resolve it .
As Mayor , Omega Allen will look at the various perspectives in light of the overall objectives . She will make concessions when required and seek to understand the positions and feelings behind those positions ; even if she doesn't agree . She will look for ways to satisfy the needs of all of the citizens . When everyone cannot be satisfied she will make the hard decision to do what is best for everyone concerned ; even if that decision is not popular . She will go the extra mile in explaining her decision so that all can understand what she is doing and why ... even if they don't agree . This approach to problem solving is indicative of the respect and understanding a women knows that everyone wants and is entitled to receive . The firm but fair approach that is innate to most women thrives in Omega .
As a woman , she will exhibit strength with compassion and understanding . She will seek to build relationships to further enhance the familial bond of the citizens of Jacksonville regardless of the social , economic , racial , or religious differences .
