AFTER 22 YEARS CURTIS LAW PASSED
Sacramento , California Governor Galvin Newsom signed Curtis ’ Law into law on August 29 , 2022 . This new law requires the immediate family of any child 18 or under killed due to a crime be given full access to all records and relevant information detailing the investigation of the incident , including personal effects . This groundbreaking law was authored by Senator Annie Cabareles and sponsored by Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice .
Curtis ’ Law was started in Jacksonville , Florida by a strong-willed mother , Patricia Ward , seeking justice for her murdered son . Mrs . Ward , the founder of non-profit Curtis & Co . for Children Gone Too Soon , wants to continue helping as many families as possible worldwide . Her passion and perseverance inspired Florida State Representative Tracy Davis to initially draft the law .

• Enforce CURTIS LAW for families of murdered children to receive basic information from law
We help with free counseling by partnering with Wolfson Children ’ s Hospital , assistance with headstones through our Thanksgiving program , and have monthly meetings on the 4th Monday of every month to help keep you updated with events and resources in the community . You Are Not Alone !
