Dr . India White Author , Educator , TEDx Speaker Tampa , Florida February 2024 is a TEDx speaker , life coach , author , national educational consultant , and co-author for Big Ideas Learning . Audiences learn from her hardships and triumphs in life . As a former homeless student , she was kicked out of the house on Christmas Eve at the age of 16 . India is a 3-time graduate from the University of Florida majoring in math and Ed . Leadership , then obtaining her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration . She was named Teacher of the Year in two counties while publishing 45 + books and was a 2022 UF Gators 40 Under 40 honoree .
Dr . India has shared her talents with Superintendents , Principals , math coaches and teachers as an educational consultant with strength in developing grit in teachers and students as she helps close the achievement gap with leaders across the nation . Dr . White also specializes in equity , diversity and inclusion and has helped leaders through professional development and workshops on Equity via her book collaboration called , “ Equity Counts ”. She has held positions as a math teacher , math coach , Assistant Principal , and a National Ed Consultant for Big Ideas Learning . India ’ s mission is to find out how to use equitable practices and developing grit in math classrooms to bridge the achievement gap .
India has presented across the globe on Equity , Diversity , and Inclusion in education . Some of the platforms Dr . White has presented for include the National Council for Teachers in Mathematics ( NCTM ), National Council of Supervisors in Math ( NCSM ), National Alliance of Black School Educators ( NABSE ), Tennessee Math Council , Virginia Council of Teachers in Mathematics ( VCTM ), Florida Council of Teachers in Mathematics , Florida Association of School Administrators , Math Association of America ( MAA ), and Wisconsin Math Council and the International Academic Forum ( IAFOR ).
India spoke on the Power of Grit at the CACE Conference for Superintendents in Massachusetts and on Equitable practices for math teachers and leaders at the 2023 Annual NCTM Conference in Washington , D . C . She was the keynote for CMC South in Palm Springs , California where she spoke to a thousand teachers and leaders about G . R . I . T ., the topic from her TEDx Talk . India has just joined forces with Dr . Matthew Joseph on the Xfactor Edu Podcast as she streams about Grit and Equity Talks .
Seeing the demand for developing grit in efforts to motivate teachers and leaders has increased , Dr . India White is working with National Geographic Learning and other renown leaders to continue serving leaders with more content including G . R . I . T workshops , professional development and her Grit Master Class for teachers , students , administrators and business leaders . Further , Dr . India was recently published in 2 articles , Dimensions Article for Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the American Mathematical Society Journal , which reaches thousands of professors and math leaders nationwide .
India is a member of the National School Board Association , the Superintendent ’ s Association , National Alliance of Black School Educators , Black Women in Education , Benjamin Banneker Association , and National Council of Supervisors in Mathematics and National Council of Teachers in Mathematics . As a member of these organizations , India has been privileged to work with various leaders in legislation , department of education and throughout various organizations that speak to equity , diversity and inclusion . She currently serves as the Equity and Access Chair for the Florida Council of Teachers in Mathematics , where she will be presenting on equity in math this summer and working with leaders in Florida to help serve all learners .
