Shaniqua “ Shan ” Rose has been endorsed by ‘ Run For Something ,’ a political organization dedicated to recruiting and supporting young candidates running for down ballot offices .

Run For Something ’ s mission is to get candidates from non-traditional backgrounds to run for and win state and local offices , and create a next generations slate of political candidates that will seek higher offices in the future .
Ms . Rose , a Caribbean-American Floridian , is a purpose driven leader with public and private experience advocating for the community . She is involved in youth mentorship , homeless justice , community policing , negotiating , and fighting for the equality of all Central Floridians .
A survivor of gun violence , Shan was a participant of the City of Orlando ’ s nighttime economy study to ensure people could enjoy the entertainment Orlando has to offer , and make it home safely . She lives in the Parramore community of Orlando with her young son .
Shan is running for City of Orlando District 5 Commissioner to reduce crime , to create equitable employment opportunities , and provide technical training to young people so they can participate in higher wage infrastructure projects . Shan Rose is a new exciting progressive candidate for positive change for the City of Orlando District 5 .
