While employed with the City of Orlando , Orange County and the State of Florida in minority and women business offices , I wondered what brave ' stuff ' they were made of . I enjoyed helping them maneuver through government as they tried to get equal opportunities . Then one day , with a nudge from God , I found the courage to chart my own course and set my own goals ," Veronica explains why she established her law firm .
Anderson and Associates found much success over the years teaming with other consultants and groups to conduct disparity studies or small business utilization and availability analysis for Orange County , Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority , Greater Orlando Aviation Authority , Miami Dade Public Schools , Mammoth Airport and the City of Memphis , resulting in a better understanding on how to develop small , minority and women-owned business programs and policies .
Veronica provided similar analysis and reports for the City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority from 2004 - 2009 . Her strengths are in negotiation , consensus building and follow-through in solving challenging issues or program obstacles . This was evident when she participated in the successful negotiation of $ 17 . 5 Million in community reinvestment agency economic development incentives for one of her developer clients . She has drafted legislative bills and educated legislators ; some bills became law that helped small and minority businesses . She is currently or has served as the general counsel for numerous non-profit entities that have missions to advocate for the underserved communities to include but is not limited to , Black Business Investment Fund , Inc ., Florida Association of Minority Business Enterprise Officials , Inc ., National Association of Minority Contractors of Central Florida , Guardian Care Nursing and Rehabilitation
