The Alumni Queens of 201 7 Bethune-Cookntan University
The Ms . Alumni Contest has been a major fund raising project for the National Alumni Association of Bethune-Cookman University since the early 1950 ' s . The National Alumni Association realized the need to generate funds for the institution and therefore sought various means to accomplish the objectives . The Ms . Alumni Contest has been one of the major and more successful fund raising efforts used to raise funds for student scholarships and support . All chapters nationwide are encouraged to participate in this effort by enrolling their Chapter Queen . A National Queen is crowned annually at the National Convention from a pool of contestants competing financially for the title . The contestant from the local chapter level who generates the largest amount of money for the university is crowned Ms . Alumni .

I am President / CEO of Alpha 1 Staffing December & Search Firm 2017 , a business I founded in 2007 with the goal
of assisting clients with solving workforce management challenges . I hold active memberships in the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce , the State of Florida Minority Supplier Development Council , the American Staffing Association , the Florida Staffing Association , and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Inc . In 2016 I attended the Bethune-Cookman University National Alumni Convention in Daytona Beach , something I had not done in a while and fell in love with the University and it values , all over again . Inspired and engaged , I promised myself that I would do my part to keep Bethune-Cookman University ' s rich legacy
flourishing . After returning to South Florida I was approached by the Miami Dade Alumni Chapter to represent them in the National Champaign for the title of Ms . Bethune-Cookman University Alumni 2017 . Not only did we win the title , the chapter raised a record-breaking amount of scholarship funds for future students and this has been the achievement of a lifetime . The education and ethics Bethune-Cookman University instills in its students is invaluable to our community and I am proud to help pave the way for the next generation . Historical Black Universities are in need of greater alumni support . I engage everyone who attended these remarkable universities to support by giving back . I am proud to serve as Bethune-Cookman University National Alumni Queen and I am very thankful for the dedicated efforts of the members of the Miami-Dade County Alumni Chapter who worked so diligent to make it happen .
