Youth Theology Institute
The Lilly Endowment, through a four-year
$600K grant awarded in 2015, provides for a
Youth Theology Institute at Bethune-Cookman
University. Its centerpiece is called Exploring
Gifts and Graces: Summer Adventure in Theology
and Leadership and is a nine-day, all expenses
paid residential theology and leadership summer
experience for high school students. The student
counselors attend a semester-long training program
in preparation for their summer experience. The
training includes helping teens think deeply about
their Christian faith and practice, and to find
ways to connect their faith with social action, and
discerning their individual gifts and purpose.
Reverend Dr. Randolph Bracy is the founding dean
of the School of Religion which offers bachelor's
degrees in Religion and Philosophy and Christian
Ministry and trains students to be servant leaders
of high moral and ethical character.
