THE STATE OF

BLACK AMERICA 2019

When evaluating the State of Black America , our history must play a viable role in the summary , it is where we have come that best gages where we are today . Having been an enslaved people for 400 years in American sets our foundation from where we built . No nationality or nation of people can identify with such a horrific origin . Chained , beaten , and deprived all forms of quality life , yet we excelled , fighting and crawling through it .
Our present state is defined by our leaders who lead us through those most difficult times . Black Abolitionist like Fredrick Douglass , Sojourner Truth , David Walker and Harriet Tubman . Civil Right Leaders like Harry T. Moore , Medgar Evers , Dr . Martin Luther King , Jr ., Ella Bake , Daisy Bates and Walter Fauntroy .
We were educated by institutions created by our AME and Baptist churches and such pioneers as Booker T. Washington and Dr . Mary McLeod Bethune . Politically we are advanced by the accomplishments of Shirley Chisholm , Barbara Jordan , Julian Bond , Elijah Cummings and President Barack Obama .
Today Black Americans are leading Fortune 500 companies , owning sport franchises , living in prestigious neighborhoods and working every occupation imaginable . The State of Black America is great ; we have come a long way as a people .
Too often we say it takes a village , where is the village for the Black mothers who many work two jobs , no father support , inadequate housing , fighting to put food on the table . If you are truthful in your statements of improving the Black Community , support the Black Mother !
Churches help her encourage her children to attend church and when they get there have programs to help them stay in school , provide clothing , wholesome activities and job opportunities . Families with more share more , take her children to dinner and to the movies with your children .
When you see something - do something ! Problems never go un-noticed . When you see a Black mother struggling , help her out . Help her fix her car . Help her with groceries . Help her watch after her children after school . Help her with lawn care . Encourage her , letting her know we all work for the same common goals , the welfare of our children and community .
Children learn from their mothers ... Respect their mother and watch how they respect you . Love their mother and watch how they love you . Care for their mother and watch how they care for you . You want a better Black community , become a better Black neighbor . .. love your neighbor as you love yourself .
The Black Family
The Black Family has been our greatest strength and our greatest weakness over the years . Realizing the family is the basis of any race of people , it is understandable why the Black Family has been under attack on many fronts by those not wanting us to achieve . Slavery - our Black men taken away from their wives and children ; our Black women forced to be the strength for the men , their children and themselves . Family Housing - red-lining forcing the Black Family to be a nation of renters and not home owners . Employment - Black men being the last hired and in most cases making less than the Black women . . . all systematic designs to hinder and distort the prosperity and progression of the Black Family .
So today , when we see the news headlines of Black children leading the statistics of Black crime , be not deceived of its origin ... if you see a negative situation that exist and it has existed for a long time , you must conclude it ' s by design ... someone wants it that way .
The Solution
For every Black boy you see with his pants sagging ; every Black child committing a crime ; every Black child on drugs , in a gang , hanging out in the streets ... that child has a mother , and chances are living with their mother . It is true the hand the rocks the cradle rules the world .

Mothers are our greatest asset as a nation , and it is to mothers we should be allocating our great resources . It is not that these Black mothers have failed their children , but we as a nation and Black community have failed these Black mothers .
