Jackie Perry , Beaver Street Enterprise Center ' s former Executive Director is now President I CEO of her new company JP and Associates , a full-service business matchmaking , consulting , and professional development destination for corporate clients and government contractors . " We leverage our unique business development and project management expertise with our government contracts knowledge , industry experience , and targeted network to build relationships faster resulting in shorter sales cycles and increased revenue ;' Jackie explains .
Jackie spent the last decade of her live helping others launch their own businesses as director of the Beaver Street Enterprise Center , Jacksonville's only core-city business incubator . " I love helping small businesses ;' she says . " That really is a passion of mine :' After helping launch a number of successful companies for others , including milliondollar enterprises , Perry is setting out to realize her own dream now , taking the experience she ' s gained to create her own full-service management consulting firm .
Perry started as a volunteer at Beaver Street , and quickly moved into leadership , establishing policies and procedures to help the organization thrive . She believes that anyone can succeed in business if he or she brings the right tools to the game . " It begins with the entrepreneur : their attitude , their drive , and their determination to learn ;' Perry said . One of Perry ' s first clients is the Beaver Street Enterprise Center where she will continue to help advise new clients . Established by FreshMinistries , Inc . in 2004 , the center , located at 1225 W Beaver St ., under Jackie ' s leadership has incubated more than 100 companies that have generated more than 2,000 jobs and $ 250 million dollars in revenue . The center offers start-up , small and mid-growth stage business client ' s assistance through microloans , and professional office space at reduced rent , support staffing , mentoring , individual strategic planning sessions , and help with financial plans , implementation and marketing .
Perry said she is delighted to be branching out now to start her own company . " I ' ve had the opportunity and the great privilege to work with FreshMinistries at the Beaver Street Center ;' she said . ' Tm ready to put to use the experience I ' ve gained in my own company . I ' m very fortunate . The time is right . If you don't take the opportunity to push forward on a dream or a vision that you have , it goes to the grave with you . "
Jackie Perry has earned numerous types of recognition including receiving the Keys to the City of Palatka for her work during 2014 in supporting economic development and incubation feasibility efforts for the City of Palatka . A graduate of Leadership Jacksonville and Blueprint for Leadership , Jackie has been recognized as an EVE finalist in the area of employment . She has also been named Jacksonville ' s Advocate of the Year at the National Minority Enterprise Development Week ( MED Week ); Small Business Administration ' s 2008 Minority small Business Champion of the Year for the North Florida District ; Jacksonville Business Journal ' s Woman of Influence , and North Florida's Regional Resource Partner of the Year for the Small Business Development Center at UNF.
Jackie currently volunteers her time as a trustee and director on boards for the Jacksonville Public Library , National Black Women in Construction , The First Coast Business Alliance and FSCJ Advisory Board at Kent Campus .
