POP CRIMES
THE SONGS OF
ROWLAND S. HOWARD
Rowland S. Howard was arguably
one of the most influential
guitarists Australia has ever
produced. He created a sonic
language of sharp, brutal intensity
unheard of in this country, in bands
such as The Birthday Party, Crime
& the City Solution and These
Immortal Souls. By his untimely
death in 2009, Rowland’s career
had spanned more than 30 years,
leaving a blazing legacy that
continues to inspire artists and
musicians across the globe.
On what would have been his
55th birthday, Pop Crimes brings
together original members of
his bands and key collaborators
from his illustrious career for
two special concert events – an
electrifying celebration of an
Australian music icon.
