THE GO SHOW Presented by Melbourne International Arts Festival and Footscray Community Arts Centre Jump aboard The GO Show bus for a fun and inspiring whirlwind tour of the West Under the artistic direction of choreographer and director Rebecca Hilton, The GO Show teams high calibre artists and hundreds of participants in a whole host of workshops. The results of these collaborations are performed and presented alongside some of Footscray’s most intriguing landmarks. Intrepid Festivalgoers can board The GO Show bus that winds its way from Whitten Oval – home of the Western Bulldogs Football Club – via Maddern Square in the heart of Footscray to the Basement Theatre of Footscray Community Arts Centre (FCAC) itself. Mounted as a one-off project in 2006 with its focus very much based in the western suburbs, The GO Show was such a roaring success that this year Melbourne Festival and Footscray Community Arts Centre invite all Melburnians and visitors to Melbourne to sample the wealth of talent the West has to offer. Experience a taste of the West and what the locals are passionate about. There’s an incredible range of performances to see as part of The GO Show that have all been developed by local residents and artists. Buses depart from Footscray Railway Station Wed 22 – Sat 25 Oct at 7pm & 8.15pm 2hr no interval The GO Show was originally commissioned by Footscray Community Arts Centre in 2006, as part of GO, a large scale community-based performance event exploring the connections between art and sport through the joint themes of passion and participation.
