Per Section 17.6.4.2 : “ N sb is obtained from Eq . ( 17.6.4.1 ) without modification for a perpendicular edge distance ”. The modification factor “ for a perpendicular edge distance ” is defined in 17.6.4.1.1 as ( 1 + c a2
