Avantone Pro BV-1 mk11 Condenser Microphone
Avantone Pro has announced its BV-1 mkII tube-driven , large-diaphragm condenser microphone .
The BV-1 mkII serves as a replacement for the discontinued BV-1 . The mic features an output transformer custom-designed by Californian company CineMag , as well as an edge-terminated 34-mm ( AKG ) CK12-style capsule , giving this condenser microphone design a large bottom-end and a smooth yet airy top-end . The proximity effect lends itself to a wide sound that can add both body and presence to a vocal take . With the mic , Avantone Pro provides a hard-shell briefcase , a shock-mount , and a pop filter .
Caveman Audio AP1 Compact Acoustic Preamp
Caveman Audio has introduced the AP1 Compact , an acoustic preamp that gives acoustic guitar players the same tone as its AP1 Acoustic Preamp , but with a significantly smaller footprint . Since the goal is improving the core guitar tone , its purpose is not to act as an effects pedal , but rather to serve as an always-on component in the signal chain .
Radial Reamp Station
Radial has introduced a brand new reamp box , the Reamp station , designed to expand the range of recording options and possibilities available to those wanting to reamp in a recording environment . The Reamp Station is a combination active DI and reamp device in a single unit . The Reamp HP is a mono reamp that allows use of the headphone output of any compact audio interface as the reamp output source .
The Reamp station is heavily influenced by qualities found in Radial ’ s JCR combined with its studio-quality active DI circuits . New tweaks to the active DI design in the Reamp Station include a unity-gain Class-A buffer switch and circuit on the Thru output , preventing any loading down of passive pickups when connected to an amplifier and preserving the natural tone of the instrument . Inputs include a 1 / 4-in . TRS and 3.5-mm mini plug for connecting mobile devices and tablets . A 48V LED indicator signal if the unit is receiving phantom power .
