Sounds Like Home
An all-new audio experience at Toronto ’ s Rogers Centre
By Andrew Leyenhorst
While Major League Baseball did play throughout the 2020 pandemic season , there was one particular ballpark that did not see its team take the field at home ; the lone Major League stadium in Canada , Toronto ’ s Rogers Centre . While the Blue Jays were situated in Tampa Bay and Buffalo , a perfect opportunity had presented itself to completely replace the decade-plus-old sound system and improve the experience at the park for spectators and players alike . And now , with the club back at home , this state-of-the-art system has finally roared to life .

CBC / Radio-Canada Moves into a New Era of Media
The Public Broadcaster Leads the Way with Its All-IP Montreal Production Hub
By Michael Raine
The Montreal-based programs at CBC / Radio-Canada have moved into a brand new , 420,000-sq . -ft., state-of-the-art facility . Excitingly , this move opened the door for a major technological leap forward . With construction completed in 2020 and the move of shows and operations currently nearing completion , it is one of the first public broadcasters in the world to be powered entirely by Internet Protocol ( IP ) technology . This , of course , brings infinitely more flexibility to its production and distribution workflows across radio , television , and digital .

Getting More Women in the Studio
How to Get Beyond the Stats & Empty Rhetoric & Create Real Change By Selina Setrakian Women populate an unreasonably small part of the music industry ’ s technical side and with each study done on the matter , the only thing that ’ s grown is the massive number of articles with nearly identical headlines proclaiming , “ Less than 5 % of music producers and engineers are women .” Simply put , even though we continue to address this percentage time and time again , things have yet to significantly change for female-identifying producers , engineers , and mixers . But why is that ? To better understand what changes are needed , we must ask ourselves a few questions ; the first being , who do these stats really reflect ?
