CEDAR Trinity 5 Audio Surveillance System
CEDAR has released Trinity 5 , the latest revision of its audio surveillance system . It features several new features including Isolate , CEDAR ’ s unique blind source separation option that allows users to isolate individual speakers from background noise and babble .
Depending upon the variant installed , any given host running Trinity 5 can be used as a self-contained system or as part of a distributed system that allows multiple users to access numerous live streams and recordings . Each has its own combination of benefits , making it possible for users to specify and install the system that best matches their requirements .
The company adds that Trinity 5 is a significant leap forward from previous systems . Firstly , it incorporates CEDAR ’ s AI-based speech detection , which means that the system itself will find and mark the voices in the audio , saving operators a lot of time when looking for the speech in extended recordings . Next , it features varispeed without changing the pitch and timbre of the voices . This allows operators to change the playback speed of recordings in the range 20-150 % of real time without harming intelligibility . Importantly , the new Isolate feature can isolate one or more wanted speakers in a soundfield , rejecting unwanted noise and other speakers that would otherwise contaminate the recording . Trinity 5 also retains all of the features of previous versions .
Austrian Audio OC707 & OD505 Stage Microphones
Austrian Audio has introduced two microphones – the OC707 and OD505 – that bring its studio-quality microphone technology to new handheld vocal mics designed for live performance .
The OC707 is a rugged vocal microphone with a die-cast body and true condenser technology . It contains a small-diaphragm condenser capsule , handmade in Vienna , with a frequency response optimized for the human voice . Its combination of low self-noise ( 19 dB SPL ) and high sound pressure level ( 150 dB SPL ) results in a larger dynamic range , creating a vocal microphone that has the important characteristics of a studio mic but can withstand the rigors of stage use , according to the company .
The OD505 is an active dynamic microphone that combines the advantages of a dynamic stage mic with the sonic refinements of a condenser microphone . It achieves nearly the same sensitivity as a condenser mic due to its dual-capsule design where the bottom capsule is phase-inverted and passively switched . Combined with a switchable second-order high-pass filter and the open-acoustics technology , noise from handling , bumps , and stage rumble are effectively eliminated , the company says .
