Shure SLX-D Digital Wireless Microphone System
Shure has taken its SLX wireless system into the digital audio realm with the install-friendly SLX-D digital wireless microphone system . It ’ s designed to meet the demands of small- to medium-sized event spaces , corporate facilities , educational institutions , houses of worship , and music venues .
The SLX-D delivers 24-bit digital audio with 120dB of dynamic range . It operates in a wide 44 MHz bandwidth ranging from 470-616 MHz and allows for up to 32 channels of wireless mics per band . Shure says that because it doesn ’ t transmit in the 2.4 GHz band , the SLX-D is more reliable over longer distances than many digital systems , with an operating range of up to 330 ft . The system utilizes advanced predictive diversity technology to maintain stable , high-efficiency RF signals for reliable performance and minimal dropouts . There are also rechargeable batterymanagement options to simplify the task of keeping multiple transmitters charged .

RX 8 Advanced is the full-featured version for professional users . Harrison Consoles AVA Vocal Flow Plug-In
Harrison Consoles has released AVA Vocal Flow , an AAX / AU / VST2 / Linuxcompatible plug-in . It ’ s an all-in-one vocal processing suite with seven routable mixing elements along with input and output controls .
The vocal EQ “ follows ” the pitch of the notes sung in a recorded vocal track and shifts the EQ curve accordingly along the frequency spectrum . This allows the actual character of vocals to be altered by adjusting the body and clarity of each note . The De-Esser module contains an intuitive implementation of Harrison ’ s De-Esser algorithm . It is primarily used to attenuate harsh frequencies caused by sibilance in speech and vocals . The Leveler is a unique compressor derived from the Harrison Mixbus channel strip . While it has adjustable Threshold and Attack , the Ratio and Release parameters are fixed so that it has a very low Ratio and a very fast Release . This provides an ideal setting for “ leveling out ” vocal mixes to help maintain consistent level throughout .
