PixMob Safeteams Contact-Tracing Technology
Montreal-based LED wearables company PixMob has repurposed its technology to deliver solutions to help production companies maintain their business operations safely and efficiently during COVID-19 . The new venture is called Safeteams , a wearable ecosystem that facilitates contact tracing and social distancing .
When contact-tracing in a non-client-facing work setting , technologies like Safeteams can provide answers rapidly . Every worker is given a wearable that tracks their location and interactions . If a person is diagnosed with the virus , their wearable will indicate who has been in close proximity with them and which area should be prioritized for decontamination . To protect the employee ’ s privacy , wearables each have a unique ID that is completely separate from the wearer ’ s identity . These are only matched in case of an infection . Additionally , Safeteams does not require users to sign in , nor to take the device home with them .

QSC Q-SYS Core 8 Flex & Core Nano Processors
QSC has introduced two new audio , video , and control processors native to the Q-SYS Ecosystem : the Q-SYS Core 8 Flex and Q-SYS Core Nano .
The Core 8 Flex includes onboard analog audio I / O and GPIO plus network I / O , while the Q-SYS Core Nano offers network-only audio I / O processing and control . Built on the same flexible and scalable software foundation as the rest of the Q-SYS processor portfolio , these new Cores expand design options to meet a wider variety of installations .
The Q-SYS Core 8 Flex includes a 64 x 64 networked I / O channel capacity with eight onboard FLEX audio channels and eight GPIOs to quickly and easily integrate analog audio and control devices into the Q-SYS Ecosystem . Q-SYS Core Nano offers the same 64 x 64 networked audio I / O without the onboard analog I / O to support installations in smaller spaces with centralized processing and fully-networked endpoints . Both processors occupy a smaller half-width , 1 RU footprint and include pre-installed 8 x 8 software-based Dante audio channels ( license upgradeable up to 32 x 32 channels ), driverless USB audio , and AV bridging capabilities .

Fir Audio IEM Cable Tester
Fir Audio has released the IEM Cable Tester , which provides a simple way to test for all IEM cablerelated problems .
Regardless of which brand of IEMs or cable is being tested , the Cable Tester is designed to work universally . Using the device ’ s channel selector to sweep between ground and positive lets users quickly and easily check for continuity in the wire , as well as for shorts , allowing for a quick determination whether the problem is caused by the cable or the earpieces . The pocket-sized unit runs on two AA batteries and features : three jacks ( three-pole 3.5 mm ; four-pole 2.5 mm ; and four-pole 4.4 mm ) for the output side of the cable ; various earpiece-side sockets ( two-pin , MMCX , T2 / IPX UE-style ; four-pin JH Audio-style ; and MC Card ); a sweep test for shorts and continuity ; and an LED light and battery test button function .
