CLASSIFIEDS EMPLOYMENT Technical Coordinator - Bell Performing Arts Centre (School District #36 - Surrey) Job Description / Duties Reporting directly to the Manager, District Theatre Technical Operations, the successful applicant will coordinate all of the technical operations of the Bell Performing Arts Centre, a 1,052-seat, proscenium-style road house theatre owned and operated by School District #36 (Surrey). The Technical Coordinator will ensure the efficient and safe operation of the lighting, audio, video, staging, and rigging systems of the performing arts centre. During events this position will function as a working department head while overseeing all technical activity in the venue. Duties on non-event days will include contacting clients, planning and maintenance. As these activities and responsibilities occur during the various rentals of the venue, the suc- cessful applicant will be required to work very flexible and dynamic hours. Qualifications / Required Skills Applicants should have completed Grade 12 and a post-secondary diploma in Technical Theatre or an equivalent combination of training and professional experience. Applicants should also have at least 3 years of experience working at a live performing arts venue in a technical theatre position and a gen- eral proficiency in operating theatrical lighting, audio, and counterweight rigging systems.
