Audio-Technica ES954 Hanging Microphone Array Audio-Technica has released the ES954 hanging microphone array, which is designed to be a cost- effective solution for huddle rooms, conference rooms, and other meeting spaces. When controlled by the Audio-Technica ATDM-0604 Digital SmartMixer, the four-capsule microphone array provides 360-degree coverage through virtual hypercardioid or cardioid outputs that can be steered horizon- tally and tilted vertically. Intended primarily for videoconferencing applications, the ES954 may be used singly or in multiples to capture all people speaking in a room. When using the ATDM-0604 Digital SmartMixer, the intuitive graphic interface enables control of the width and orientation of each virtual polar pattern, steerable in 30-degree increments, with a tilt function accom- modating differing ceiling heights or users that are sitting/standing. Used in conjunction with a gate on each microphone channel, the system could be configured to automatically follow anyone talking while moving around the space. GENELEC 8361A MONITOR & W371A WOOFER Genelec The Ones 8361A & 8351B Monitors & W371A Subwoofer Genelec has expanded The Ones series of point-source monitors to serve a wider range of room sizes, listening distances, and SPL requirements. The new monitors include the 8361A and 8351B coaxial three-way monitors alongside the complementary W371A Adap- tive Woofer System. The largest coaxial monitor in The Ones family, the 8361A is tailored to listening distances up to 5 m, making it suitable for small- to medium-sized rooms. It features two acoustically-concealed woofers, generating high SPL output with extremely low distor- tion. The new MDC coaxial midrange and tweeter drivers provide smooth directivity, low distortion, high SPL, and extended fre- quency response up to 40 kHz. The Minimum Diffraction Enclosure eliminates colouration, and its entire front baffle acts as a directivity control waveguide. The newly-upgraded 8351B draws inspiration from the electronic design of the 8341A and the driver technology of the 8361A. It offers increased SPL, additional room compensation EQs, equalized delay, and enhanced HF response. For more information, contact SFM: 514- 780-2070, [email protected], www.sfm.ca.
