PRODUCTS Royer Labs AxeMount Dual Microphone Mount Royer Labs has introduced the AxeMount dual microphone mount, which is co-designed and being manufactured by SLR in Windsor, ON. The AxeMount is ideal for blending a Royer R-121 ribbon mic with a 57-style dynamic mic, which is a popular method for capturing electric guitars. An AxeMount microphone clip positions an R-121 directly next to a 57-style dynamic microphone, with the setup phase-aligned and ready to record. In the past, this miking process required two microphone stands, two clips, and consid- erable time to get the mics properly aligned and in-phase with each other. The AxeMount clip is designed to be rugged and easy to use while taking the guesswork and experimentation out of the phase alignment equation The AxeMount also accommodates Royer R-122, R-122 Mkll, and R-122V ribbon microphones. Alcons LR18/120 Pro-Ribbon Line Array Alcons Audio is now shipping the LR18/120, a three-way “compact-mid- size” format line-source sound system. It’s designed to combine a 120- degree wide dispersion with high-dynamic SPL capabilities and throw. By implementing Alcons’ pro-ribbon technology for mid and high frequencies, the LR18/120 offers a fast impulse response with up to 90 per cent less distortion. This enables the system to offer an intuitive linear response, with optimal intelligibility and non-compressed identical tonal balance at any SPL, under an improved gain-before-feedback performance. The all-natural cylindrical wavefront of the purpose-designed Alcons RBN702rs 7-in. pro-ribbon transducer and the acoustically- and electronically-symmetrical component configuration allow for very coherent pattern control in both the vertical and horizontal plane without any distortion-inducing horn constructions, according to the company. The pro-ribbon’s power handling of 1,500 W and RMS-to-peak power handling ratio of 1:15 are another asset to the system’s throw and dynamic headroom reserve. Audinate Dante Domain Manager V1.1 Audinate has released version 1.1 of the Dante Domain Manager software. Version 1.1 is now delivered as a complete ISO package, making it faster and easier to install and set up Dante Domain Manager specific to the user’s needs and applica- tions. The ISO package may be used in virtual environments such as VMWare ESXi, Oracle VirtualBox, and Microsoft Hyper-V, or it may be installed directly onto a “bare metal” server with no additional software required. Broadcasters can now combine SMPTE 2110 and Dante devices for more seam- less workflows, bringing Dante’s connectivity to radio and TV studios with secure, user-authenticated access. New GPS clock synchronization enables Dante connectivity between facilities over long distances, allowing users to distribute real-time media at greater distance and scale. Improvements to email notifications and alerts mean that integrators and managers can stay on top of changes to their systems from anywhere, addressing issues before impacts are felt. Support for LDAPS and SMTPS improves security by encrypting communication to those servers.
