NAB Show NY to Welcome Dozens
of New Exhibitors
Organizers of the 2019 NAB Show New York, which is being held in conjunc-
tion with the AES New York convention from Oct. 16-17 at the Jacob K. Javits
Convention Center, have revealed that there will be a large contingent of
first-time exhibitors at this year’s trade show.
Of the nearly 300 exhibiting companies, 51 will be new to the NAB Show
NY. Additionally, 30 per cent of this year’s exhibiting companies are new to
the trade show within the last two years.
Also new to the 2019 show floor is the Pop-up Marketplace and Theater.
Open to all attendees, this new feature offers an opportunity to meet first-
time exhibitors and attend sessions on topics such as financing new entertainment ventures, esports, and Next Gen TV. Also announced is a
conference session on the “art of sound” with the foley team behind FX’s Fosse/Verdon.

Lauten Audio has announced the hiring of
Trent Thompson in the role of president of
sales and marketing. Thompson comes to
Lauten Audio from Moog Music, where he
spent the last eight years leading product
marketing and product management.
“Trent and I met in 2007 when he was a
sales engineer at Sweetwater Sound. Trent
truly believed in what we were doing and
played an important role in Lauten’s early
success with our microphones. Nearly 12
years later, we are pleased to welcome Trent
to the Lauten Audio family and excited

Thompson’s new role will include oversee-
ing global sales and marketing for the Lauten

AMX Canada, a division of Techni+Contact Canada, has
announced the appointment of Kyle Gagne to the position of
regional sales manager for Western Canada.
Gagne, who is based in Calgary, gained extensive AV
experience overseeing the entire ConocoPhillips Canadian
Business Unit’s AV technology assets, as well as developing
and maintaining the corporate AV programming standards.

He earned the CTS designation from AVIXA and holds several
technical industry certifications, which he leveraged working directly with his sales team to
develop and expand a major Canadian integrator’s brand in the western region with high-
profile end users, according to AMX Canada.

APG Media Group Launches as Full-Service LED

Shortly after selling Advanced Presentation Products Inc.
to Diversified, David Weatherhead has announced plans to
expand his other company, APG Rentals, into a full-service LED
video-wall and media technology company called APG Media
Group, which will be comprised of APG Rentals, APG Distribu-
tion, and APG Technical Services.
APG will grow both its U.S. and Canadian operations by
opening a larger Canadian headquarters in Toronto this winter
and expanding its current U.S. headquarters in Orlando, FL.
Both locations will include full-line showrooms, training centres,
test labs, and extensive warehousing.
