Logitech Acquires
Blue Microphones
Logitech has acquired Blue Microphones
in a deal The Verge reports was worth $117
million USD. Blue says the acquisition will
not impact its commitment to the profes-
sional audio market and that it currently
has new products in development.
“With Logitech’s vast resources and
incredible reach, Blue will be on a much
bigger stage from the beginning. The end
result is fulfilling our ultimate purpose
– helping as many of our users find and
amplify their voice as we can,” says Blue
CEO John Maier.
Blue has confirmed to Professional
Sound that the acquisition will not impact
its Canadian distribution arrangement
with HHB Canada.

National Music Centre to Host 3 rd Alberta Electronic
Music Conference
Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, will host the third annual Alberta Elec-
tronic Music Conference (AEMCON) from Nov. 15-18, 2018. AEMCON is a gathering for
music producers, DJs, industry professionals, and fans of electronic music that attracts
delegates from across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. with a mission to elevate Western
Canada’s electronic music scene through education, networking, and collaboration.
The 2017 edition welcomed over 1,500 attendees.
Conference session topics for 2018 include: the music production of the video
